About Tizen OS
Tizen operating system is an open source project based on HTML 5. Its main components are Linux kernel and WebKit runtime. Being based on HTML5 it will have good internet browsing capability and features.
The Tizen project is governed by Technical Steering Group (TSG), which is composed of Intel and Samsung. The Tizen project resides within the Linux Foundation. There is a Tizen Association also formed for providing in-market support and also handling the industry presence of Tizen.
Tizen OS will power multiple device categories as smartphones, tablets, netbooks, in-vehicle infotainment devices, and smart TVs.
Looks and Feel of Tizen OS
The Tizen OS has similar looks that of Android with difference that the app icons are round and not square (Firefox OS app icons are also rounded icons). Also it has notification bar that can be swipe down from the top (like that of Android).
The smartphone market also has the presence of Microsoft’s Window Phone and revamped version of Blackberry OS based phones.
Tizen’s backing by Samsung is a much positive thing, as Samsung has become World’s largest smartphone maker.
