Gmail Users can send 10GB files in attachment

As a Gmail user everyone as of now was able to send only 25 MB files as attachment. Now Google has extended the limit to 10 GB, 400 times more than earlier. Google has announced the integration of Google Drive into Gmail enabling users to insert files directly into email.

Google has announced this feature in its Gmail Blog.

Gmail 10 GB attachment Benefits

  • Now users can insert files directly into email from Google Drive without having to leave the Gmail.
  • User will not have to think about space while attaching files to email.
  • Also users don’t have to think that recipient will access all the files in Google Drive. Gmail will check the access rights of the recipient.
  • This feature is available only with “New Compose experience”, so user need to switch to it before enjoying the Google Drive integration.


Also to note, Gmail will double check the recipients of email have access to any files being sent. It’s like whenever users sends a file Google will check, whether the file from the Drive is shared with everyone or not and hence user will be prompted to change file sharing setting’s.

Integration of Google Drive into the Google’s emailing service will be available on “Gmail’s new compose experience”. So what are you waiting for ? Switch to “Gmail’s New compose experience” and start sending attachments upto 10 GB.
