Alcatel is all set to launch its Firefox OS powered Smartphone “One Touch Fire” this June 2013. With this Alcatel One Touch Fire will become the first smartphone to run Mozilla’s Firefox OS.
Alcatel One Touch Fire will have the following specs
- Display: 3.5-inch HVGA TN display.
- Processor: single core Qualcomm1GHz processor
- Memory: 256MB of RAM and has 512MB of onboard memory
- microSD card slot which supports up to 32 GB (2GB card included).
- 3.2 mega pixel camera.
- connectivity: 3G, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth 3.0 A2DP
- 1400 mAH battery.
Alcatel One Touch Fire smartphone comes into the category of affordable range of smartphones. The smartphone will come in 7 numbers of vibrant colours. The company is starting to hit the market from the lower ends.
Presently the smartphone market is dominated by Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS based smartphones. With these two dominating the market Firefox is entering as a competent.
Mozilla’s Firefox OS is based on HTML5 framework and is built on open web standard. Means the phone is initially built to surf the web based resource. The theme of Firefox OS is focused on simplicity, designed to be easily handled at first use. The home screen bottom tray contains icons of phone dialer, text message, Firefox browser.
At the initial stage the Firefox OS may face problems, but being part of Mozilla it is reliable that everything going to be solved in future.
Mozilla is quite confident that Firefox OS will create a sensation in the smartphone market dominated by Google and Apple’s OS based smartphone.
